Pieces/ Items of Interest

Hello. I wanted to create a place for students and others visiting this site to experience some of the best music written for the violin played by some of the best players. So I created this YouTube page with videos of some of the most important pieces by some of my favorite players. Here is a link to the page:

As you know, I am a big proponent of the individual in music and otherwise. Below are a list of some of my favorite players that I believe are great players and individuals (some of them are even composers themselves) and a link to their website or an Amazon listing of their recordings. (If the website exists; as some are deceased) Please check them out. As an musician puts an astronomical amount of effort in to becoming something great to present to you and to make a living at it, I believe we should show respect and help to them by knowing who they are. This is not all inclusive but it is a start. There are many other great violinists but I just wanted to feature ones that really stick out as individuals. If you would like specific recommendations for an album, please contact me directly. Here’s the list:

I also would like to recommend a DVD to watch it is called The Art of Violin. It is one of the best documentaries I have ever seen on the violin. It especially encapsulates the idea of the individual that I put so much focus on. Here is a link to purchase it on Amazon. However I will have a copy available for students to check out from my personal library
